Mrs. Julie A. Bookman

Julie Bookman has lived in the Antelope Valley since 1966, and attended Eastside School from third grade through eighth grade.  After attending Antelope Valley High School, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agronomy from Cal Poly Pomona, and a Master of Arts degree in Education from Chapman University.

 

After graduating from Cal Poly Pomona, Mrs. Bookman worked as a State Traffic Officer for the California Highway Patrol.  Once she started a family, Mrs. Bookman began working as a teacher for the Eastside Union School District, two years as a sixth grade teacher, and two years as a second grade teacher. Mrs. Bookman then moved to Antelope Valley Union High School District to teach Biology.

 

Mrs. Bookman retired in 2019 from the Antelope Valley Union High School District where she taught Biology, Forensic Biology, Anatomy and Physiology at several high schools.  Mrs. Bookman also worked for the high school district as a curriculum specialist, mentor teacher, BTSA support provider, and instructional technology teacher.

 

Mrs. Bookman is married and lives on a working ranch on the east side of Lancaster.  She has two adult children, both of whom attended Tierra Bonita Elementary School and Cole Middle School.  Both earned Bachelor degrees, one from Cal Poly Pomona and one from Cal State Fullerton. She has three grandchildren that she loves to spend time with.

 

Mrs. Bookman has always considered education as a way for students to open doors to opportunities.  She is dedicated to supporting the education of the students in the Eastside community.
