Eastside Union School District will be implementing a new option available to schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for the 2018-2019 school year.
Great news for you and your students!
For the 2018-19 school year all students enrolled in Columbia Elementary, Eastside Elementary, Enterprise Elementary, Tierra Bonita Elementary, Eastside Academy and Gifford Cole Middle Schools are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at no cost each day. In addition, participation in the CEP program does not require a meal application to be completed, instead a simple one page data collection form (https://eastsideusd.rocketscanapps.com) is required in order not to jeopardize State school funding to the District.
What does this mean for you and your children attending the school(s) identified above?
Under the new State school funding vehicle “Local Control Funding Formula” (LCFF), a portion of state funding will be determined based on the demographics of students attending the District. All families in our school district will receive a Funding Data Collection Form that must be filled out and submitted online or in writing and returned to the school site where your student is enrolled.
In order to maximize funding to support students, our goal is to reach a completion/return rate of 100%. By meeting this goal we can provide the necessary resources to support our students.
If you have any question regarding the new CEP program or need assistance completing the Funding Data Collection Form (https://eastsideusd.rocketscanapps.com) please contact us at 661-952-1216 or 661-952-1229.
