Dr. Tinisha Hamberlin
Dr. Tinisha Hamberlin serves as superintendent of Eastside Union School District, effective July 15, 2026. She brings more than two decades of educational leadership experience and a proven record of improving student achievement, developing high-performing leaders, strengthening student support systems, and implementing innovative structures that support continuous improvement.
Throughout her career, Dr. Hamberlin has served in leadership roles across the K-12 educational system. Her work has focused on strengthening instructional practices, creating equitable opportunities for students, enhancing special education services, advancing Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), and developing collaborative cultures that empower educators and leaders.
Before becoming superintendent, Dr. Hamberlin led the District’s Educational Services Division. During her service in that role, she supported the strengthening of Tier 1 instruction, the expansion of structured literacy in the early grades, the integration of English learner strategies, and the advancement of culturally and linguistically responsive instruction. She also helped redesign the District’s Instructional Leadership Teams and strengthen coordination among instructional, behavioral, social-emotional, and family support systems.
In recognition of her impact on public education, Dr. Hamberlin was named one of Education Insider Magazine’s Top 10 Deputy Superintendents of 2026.
Dr. Hamberlin holds a B.A. in Journalism from Baylor University, two M.A. degrees in Educational Leadership and Administration from California State University, Northridge, and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership for Teaching and Learning from Liberty University. She has also completed executive leadership programs through Harvard University and the California Collaborative for Educational Excellence.
She remains actively engaged in the development of educators and administrators and is a member of the Association of California School Administrators, the California Association of African-American Superintendents and Administrators, the American School Counselor Association, and the International Coaching Federation.
Grounded in purpose and a belief in collective impact, Dr. Hamberlin is committed to partnering with the Board of Trustees, staff, families, and community to create a future where every student is challenged, supported, and empowered to reach their fullest potential.
