Child Nutrition Services

Good nutrition and learning go hand in hand!  Our goal is to provide delicious and nutritious meals to our students in a safe and caring environment. School Food Service provides nutritious meals and promotes healthful living. In following our vision of placing "Kids First", we take great pride in providing nutritional breakfasts, lunches, snacks, and suppers, in accordance with the USDA National School Lunch and School Breakfast regulations. We support learning by promoting healthy habits for lifelong nutrition and fitness practices.

If you have a student that has an allergy or you need to request any type of meal accommodation, please download and print this form. It must be filled out by your physician and turned into the school nurse’s office: Special Meals Accommodation Form

Accommodating Children without a Disability

Eastside USD is not required but will attempt to provide food substitutions to a child with a special dietary preference that is not considered a disability. An individual who does not have a disability but cannot consume a particular food because of a non-disability reason, such as religious or moral reasons, is considered to have a food preference. These accommodations will be considered on a case-by-case basis. If you would like to request a fluid milk substitute due to a medical or other special dietary need, please download and print this form. It must be turned into the school nurse’s office: Parental Request For A Fluid Milk Substitution

Our district participates in the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP). The goal of the FFVP is to enhance elementary school food environments by providing healthier food choices and to:

  • Expand the fruits and vegetables children experience
  • Increase children’s fruit and vegetable consumption
  • Make a difference in children’s diets to affect their present and future health

The FFVP program is available to all students at Eastside Elementary, Enterprise Elementary, Columbia Elementary, Tierra Bonita Elementary and Eastside Academy. The program is seen as an important catalyst for change in efforts to combat childhood obesity and by helping children adopt healthy eating habits. Please click on the flyer to learn more.
