This November, Eastside Union School District joins the nation in celebrating Native American Heritage Month. The Antelope Valley has been home to Native peoples for hundreds of years, including the Serrano, Kitanemuk, Tataviam, and Kawaiisu, and their descendants remain part of our community today.
Throughout the month, EUSD students will read books by Native authors, learn about the first peoples of our valley, and discover Native leaders in science, the arts, military service, and public life. Families can join the learning by visiting the Antelope Valley Indian Museum State Historic Park in Lancaster or reading a book by a Native author together.
We are proud to honor the Native students, families, and staff who make EUSD stronger every day.
