The Eastside Union School District Board of Trustees has appointed Dr. Tinisha Hamberlin as superintendent, effective July 15, 2026. Dr. Hamberlin succeeds Dr. Jezelle Fullwood, whose service as superintendent concluded June 30, 2026.
Dr. Hamberlin brings more than two decades of educational leadership experience and a proven record of improving student achievement, developing high-performing leaders, strengthening student support systems, and implementing innovative structures that support continuous improvement.
Before becoming superintendent, Dr. Hamberlin led EUSD’s Educational Services Division. Her work included strengthening Tier 1 instruction, expanding structured literacy in the early grades, embedding English learner strategies, advancing culturally and linguistically responsive instruction, and improving coordination among instructional, behavioral, and social-emotional supports.
“Under Dr. Hamberlin’s leadership, Eastside Union School District will continue building on its foundation of excellence by strengthening instructional systems, investing in people, fostering innovation, and creating coherent structures that support continuous improvement,” said Board President Julie Bookman. “Her leadership will ensure students are prepared with the skills, confidence, and opportunities necessary to succeed in high school and beyond.”
Dr. Hamberlin holds a B.A. in Journalism from Baylor University, two M.A. degrees in Educational Leadership and Administration from California State University, Northridge, and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership for Teaching and Learning from Liberty University. She has also completed executive leadership programs through Harvard University and the California Collaborative for Educational Excellence.
“I am deeply honored and humbled by the trust the Board has placed in me,” said Dr. Hamberlin. “I look forward to partnering with our Board, staff, families, and community to create a future where every student is challenged, supported, and empowered to reach their fullest potential.”
