An Antelope Valley resident since 1988, Melinda Jaggi is the Interim Superintendent for the Eastside Union School District in Lancaster, California.
The Eastside Union School District serves approximately 3,500 students from Transitional Kindergarten through 8th grade in the northeastern area of Lancaster. The district includes four elementary schools, one middle school, and one alternative school.
Jaggi began her career as a teacher in 1978. She worked in both urban and rural secondary settings. She moved to Arizona to teach Commercial Food Trades at Mesa Vo-Tech. After that, she taught in Los Angeles Unified School District, and became the Bilingual Coordinator there. She moved to the Palmdale School District as an Assistant Principal. After serving as principal at Mesa Intermediate School, she became the Director of Curriculum and Instruction.
In 2013 Jaggi became Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services for the Eastside Union School District. Her resumé includes work as a National Staff Developer for AVID (Advancement via Individual Determination) as well as an adjunct professor with California State University Bakersfield in the area of Educational Leadership. She is credentialed as a certified School Leadership Coach. In July 2017, Jaggi began her role as Interim Superintendent.
Jaggi received her bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University, and a masters degree in school management from the University of La Verne.
